Like a heart transplant patient
The heart
And to reward you for your patience and apologize for the relative ugliness of the pedals, I give you, NUMBER THREE.

Hrrrrmmmrrrgh. The Tube Screamer with tube is . . . most definitely fighting me. I was going to include it as a bonus for you, Brian, but I don't think it's going to work.
You should still get a bonus though. :p _________________ Anything other than yes is no |

Aw, what do you mean it doesn't work?
No worries; I just wanna be able to have some pedals so I can piss off my new neighbors already. _________________ click here for some |

When I click the TS Tube on it throws a terrible hum through the amp. :- It's a very early prototype.
Anyway, I tested the pedals today and they sound great and are nice and quiet. I boxed up the trio and they will go out in Priority Mail tomorrow. You should have them Friday or Monday! _________________ Anything other than yes is no |

After buying a daisy chain, I finally hooked up the Trevisol FX and all seems to be fine. Unfortunately, my gf has company and I can't really wail on my guitar at the moment. Additionally, my tiny practice amp got damaged during our move here...so I had to play it on the Rivera 50 watt on REALLY REALLY quiet. Hopefully tomorrow I can really play around with it....
The one thing I did notice is that the fuzz was really loud. You were right, the one spot just doesn't do the trick...
Also...I'm a bit scared to play with the jumpers on the cleardrive...I feel like I might break something. Any way to have this easier in the next version?
I'll keep you posted, Ryan, and give you a good, honest review of your pedals. _________________ click here for some |

Okay so this thread needed an update.
There I lay, trying to fall asleep with my wife writhing and coughing with a cold. And it hit me. What makes wiring up a pedal hard? What is it that is so laborious?
It's the switching. You have to wire all these tiny wires to these switches and 99% of the time, the problems you have come from these silly switches and the little wiring that you somehow screwed up.
Well no more.
I went out to my bench and scribbled something to make me remember, and then a couple days later (today), I came up with this:
It's a tiny circuit board to go over the 3 pole, double-throw switch that you put in every stomp box. And all the inputs and outputs have a little pad where you just stick the wire in and solder it off. Simple as can be. The only wire you have to connect directly to the switch is the ground.
I'm thinking this is going to make my pedal builds go faster and with less errors. The best part is, for $22, I'm getting 20 of them made. Totally worth it.
Now, my PCB supplier takes their sweet time when they ship me stuff, so that gives me time to finalize the design of the Clear Drive (which I'm thinking of renaming Blue Drive, what do you think?), which is becoming an entirely different animal.
It will incorporate an adjustable boost, will be housed in a larger box of the same shape, will have two footswitches, and instead of a tone knob, it will switch in the smoother, darker clipping components. With a rotary switch. Fortunately I just need a few components to get this version going. _________________ Anything other than yes is no |
